This was a really interesting thriller, reminiscent of the movie Saw. Two people get kidnapped and are left with one gun, and no way out. Only one will get to live! Doesn’t that sound like Saw a bit? Right up my alley. Detective Helen Grace was a well thought out character. She is fierce and no-nonsense. She also has a BDSM side. There are a lot of twists and mind games in the book. I definitely want to read the rest of the series, or at least check out book 2.
What do you think? Is this the type of book you like to read?
I reviewed Heartsick here. I loved the first book so much that I bought the rest of the series. Archie stays obsessed with Gretchen Lowell the serial killer who tortured him, and continues to visit her in prison, under the guise that she is giving him more victim’s bodies, so he has to go. The real reason is obsession. I love how flawed all of the characters are. I have always been intrigued by serial killers, maybe I shouldn’t admit that, but I loved the way the series really got you inside her head. All of the books are brilliant, and have you on the edge of your seat.
